Mega Blocks Review with Thomas the train

My kids are in love with blocks, Lego's anything they can build with but its hard for the littler ones because I get nervous with the small Lego's. With Mega Blocks I don't have to worry. They are like Lego's just bigger. The Perfect size for my 3 and 4 year old and even my 6 year old. I also love that Mega Bloks has character themes that my kids love. My 4 year old love Thomas the Train. She has all kinds of Thomas toys but her favorite ones are her Mega Bloks Thomas sets. So when we got the chance to try out one of their newest sets the Thomas the Train Busy day at the Quarry we were all excited.

When we got it my three youngest were so excited to set it up and play with it. I sat there and helped them set up the track and they played with it for hours. They absolutely adored it. They wanted to leave it set up forever lol but we had to eventually take it down to clean up and told them they could put it back together another day to play more with it again. The very next day they had it back up and was playing with it again for hours. Me and my kids loved this set and I love Mega Bloks and will continue to buy them and recommend them to all my friends and family. They are awesome! If you haven't checked them out yet you definitely should your little ones will love them too!

Happy what would of been 28th Birthday James! RIP

Me and James always together
Today would of been my Nephew James Waitman Hopkins 28th Birthday today! I miss him every single day. He was so full of life. He loved to make people laugh even if it made him look completely dorky lol. He was always happy. He was so smart. He was great with kids and I know my kids would have loved him so much. I know he is watching over us because I feel him sometimes. He was my best friend growing up. He would sleep over my house or me sleep over my sisters house whenever he was over. We would stay up all night playing the Nintendo and try beating the games. We would make scary houses, clubs, silly houses, bars, and forts. We go exploring the desert. We had some wild imaginations. When I got married and began having kids he was over my house alot almost every day to eat my food and drink my drinks and take up my couch and watch movies and stuff with me! He was always there for me to cheer me up! Don't get me wrong we had some brutal fights from time to time but you could never keep us apart lol. We just had that inseparable bond. He was the only person who understood me and my actions and listen to me and stood up for me. He was a awesome person! He wasn't perfect and did get in trouble and got caught up in things I wish he didn't and maybe he would of still been here today but he did and he isn't that's life. But I love he because of his flaws and he loved me because of mine! HE passed away 4 days after my daughter was born and put in NICU and struggling for her own life so I didn't get to go to his funeral and say my good byes. That still hurts to this day! But when he passed he took care of my little girl and gave her life and her fight and she survived and I know he was there watching over her. Thank you James! I miss you soooo much! I miss your smile and laugh! I miss you singing to the top of your lungs country songs to me and any girls walking by lol. I  miss sitting and talking with you all night! Happy birthday in Heaven I know You are partying it up with all the Hott Angels dancing and singing and enjoying cheesecake and a awesome feast! LOVE YOU!!! I will see you again!

Educational Insights review and Giveaway ends june 17

There is so many toys on the market these days to me just fill up toy boxes and barely ever get played with or are to me useless toys. That's why I try to buy less of those kinds of toys and more educational learning experiences type toys. I think for me its knowing your kids are playing having fun while learning and whats better than that?  Educational Insights has the best toys and activities and games that are all educational. I was excited when they asked me to be part of their mommy blogger program to test out some of their featured products and share my opinions. So here it goes!
 GeoSafari Talking Electron Microscope

View more than 180 amazing, up-close images with the Talking Electron Microscope! Zoom in and out and hear 5 fun facts about each image in Learning Mode – then switch to Quiz Mode and test your knowledge! Images include the human body, viruses and bacteria, plants, animals, and other “stuff”.
Grades 3+/Ages 8+
My opinion:
I love Microscopes! I remember in 5th and 6th grade asking my mom for one for my birthday and Christmas and when I finally got one I was in love. Maybe that where my love for science started from. So This was one of my favorite things to share with my kids. I mean this one is alot nicer than the little one I has growing up. I really love that it has so many images to view and I love that it talks to you explaining what everything is and about it. I also love the option to put it on Quiz mode and be quizzed after learning about the images. I also love that there is alot of different types of images from anatomy like humans cells and then off to Bacterias and molds to plants. This kept me and my kids busy for days. None of us could get enough of it. This is a definite must have toys for kids!
No more wild guesses! The Estimation Station is the perfect way to teach your students to make logical mathematical estimates. Simple send this jar home with a student to be filled and counted. Then fill the included proportional scoop and share that number with your class. Students use that information to formulate educated estimations about the number of pieces in the jar. Clearer and easier than homemade jars with hard-to-view contents.
 Grades K+/Ages 5+
My Opinion:
This one was definitely a interesting way to figure out the whole game how many in the jar game. The whole idea of it was you fill the bubble gum machine  up with a item like gumballs or jelly beans make sure you count them to know how many then give your kids the scooper which is about 1/2 the size of the machine and fill the scooper up  and let them know how many are in the scooper and then with that amount they can logically guess how many  are approximately in the machine. Wow this was definitely fun to experiment with. We did jelly beans , black beans, marshmallows, cheerios and more. We had alot of fun guessing and seeing who would come the closest. This was a fun way to use math to figure out a fun game. I also loved that it came with about a weeks worth of activities to do with the estimating machines. Awesome toy!
This adorable teacher-invented game gets young children measuring with a ruler! Kids select their playing piece, draw a car, measure the lines indicated on the card, and move forward that number of squares. The first player to reach the end wins! Leveled cards work with grades K, 1, and 2.
Grades K-2/Ages 5-7
My opinion:
We love board games and my kindergartner and my 3rd grader are both learning rulers and measurements so this was a perfect game for them. This game was great because not only were they playing a fun board game as a family but the kids were learning measurements, reading a ruler and math like adding and subtraction and multiplication. You all start at the start spot then pick a card that say go ahead H or go Back A+B then you had to take the ruler and measure the lines that were marked by those letters to find out how many inches or spaces you get to move. We played this over and over for hours and have played it many times since. This is a very fun learning game!
Students, start your engines! Draw a card and see if you can answer one of 100 fun grammar, punctuation, and capitalization questions. Answer correctly, roll the die, and move your piece forward. Be the first to round the finish line and you win!
Grades 2+/Ages 7+
My Opinion:
Another board game yay! This was a great game for all my kids even the older ones. This is a game based on Grammar like punctuations, capitalization, parts of speech and usage. It is based on a racetrack like nascar races. You have to race around the track and get to the finish line first to win. You pick a card answer question and then roll the dice to see how far you get to move. This was fun because the questions weren't really hard but were like questions I seen on tests in school like which sentence show correct capitization? The part I like was it didn't just say the answer it also explain why it was the right answer so the kids were able to see why it was right and the other weren't. That was very important and helped them learn alot better. I have notice after 2 weeks of playing this my two oldest when they wrote their end of the year reports for their class their grammar errors were alot less and they noticed the errors alot faster now as well. That is awesome!

Overall we loved all these awesome products! They taught my kids how to have fun with learning and that learning doesn't have to be boring. We will use all these alot over the summer to keep their brains working hard even when school is out! I cant wait to get more stuff from Educational Insights. They have so much to chose from. I mean honestly I could buy new stuff their daily. I am definitely gonna be buying more for holidays, birthdays and gifts and for summer break to keep my kids entertained. So head over and check them out!

We are giving away all 4 of these awesome toys! There will be 4 winners randomly chosen to win one of these items So one will win the Microscope , one will win the estimating machine, one will win the Inching along game and one will win the Grammar 500 game. Yay!

Intelligent First Aid kit review and giveaway ends june 10th

Being a mom to 6 kids and three of them have a bleeding disorder we try to always have some safety products around. I have a medical background and am going to finish my degree for nursing once my kids are in school full time. I love the medical area! I don't love having to use my medical experiences though when emergencies come up and I am definitely not a doctor so I tend to panic some times too. This is where Intelligent first aid and their amazing kits coming handy!

Why have a first aid kit around? Well emergencies happen all the time and especially when your not prepared trust me I know. 2 year ago I learned having a car safety kit is important too. My son who have a bleeding disorder cut two of his toes open at the water park and was gushing blood I had no bandages or gauze or rags or tape nothing. I did though have a feminine pad lol not my sons favorite thing to have wrapped around his toes but it soaked up the blood until we got to the doctors for his bleeding medicine and stitches. Now I always have a safety kit in the van and at home.

What makes Intelligent first aid kits so awesome? Well let me tell you! First off it comes in this nifty blue zipper bag to keep everything in one spot and doesn't take up much room. Secondly I love the handy dividers to divide each section. I love the individual bag for each type of emergency. The home kit includes Bleeding, Bones, Bites & stings, and Basic. The one thing that I love is you can get a talking emergency kit. This is so nice because when your panicking or someone else is helping it actually talks you through what you need to do in a calm voice. This is awesome! I also love you can buy replacement packs and other safety packs individually as well so you don't have to re buy the whole thing over again. I have showed this kit to everyone who will listen to me because I love it so much. My kids even know about it and what it is for and where it is located in case of a emergency. That is so important! I love this kit!

Just a little background on the company and products:
We are an innovations company in first aid. Our Intelligent First Aid kits were a "Best Buy in Safety For Your Family" in Good Housekeeping Magazine and also received an IParenting award in 2005. Most recently we have been on The Doctors TV show and have sent kits to aid them on their trip to Haiti last year.

We work with medical and educational experts to develop our first aid kits with injury specific packs that contain all the supplies and instructions you need to manage the most common injuries. Our customers would agree that our home and travel kits are perfect for growing families. Our talking first aid kits also have an audio button that talks the user through proper first aid steps for common injuries. A great stress reducer when you need it most!

So if you don't have a safety kit or just looking for a better one you have to check out Intelligent first aid kits. You will be glad you did!

We are giving one lucky reader a Talking safety kit for home or car your choice! Awesome!
